~Minnat’s Ronin Scarf FAQ~

This scarf is double knit in Red Heart Super Saver yarn but any worsted weight yarn should work. I’m using US 7/ 4.5mm needles. Gauge isn’t critical for this project but it looks best at an equal row/stitch count.

Colors used:
Main color: White
Rekka/Wildfire: Hot Red
Kongo/Hardrock: Pumpkin
Suiko/Torrent: Blue
Kourin/Halo: Paddy Green
Tenku/Strata: Royal Blue

As this scarf is still in progress, I will update this list as I go.

The cast on is the braided look cast on found here: A Kitten Knits.

Information in double knitting can be found here: KnittingHelp.com

The charts for this project are 21 stitches by 21 rows. Adding in a couple stitches on each edge for a border and they come out to about 6 inches square.

The charts can be found here:
Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors
Demon Generals/Warlords (In progress, will be updated)

In progress photos, photos of the finished project, occasional complaints, etc can be found under the tag ronin scarf on my blog.

Usual Disclamer:
The crests featured in these charts are based on the Crests from Yoroiden Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors. I just put them in a form that makes them easy to knit.

You can use these charts for whatever kind of project you wish, but please don’t claim them as your own or sell them. Also, if you use them, tag me maybe? I want to see what you make. ^-^

As always, feel free to contact me with questions. My ask box is open.

Knitting charts for my Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers scarf.

These are just the charts for the five heroes. I’m still mucking about with charting the other four armor crests so we’ll see what comes of that.

The new scarf in progress.

Not sure if I’m going to repeat these five crests for the whole scarf or attempt the crests of the four demon generals. The other four will probably be hard to chart at this scale.

It’s almost like the people who design these things don’t think that someday some crazy knitter will look at these designs and say “I want to knit that.”

Speaking of knitting that, let me know if you guys want the charts for these.

Important knitting question: I'm working on a pattern and everything keeps bunching up around it when I change color. How do I make it not?

Like fair isle knitting? I don’t have much experience with that sort of knitting but it sounds like you might not be leaving enough give in the floating yarn.

There’s a tutorial Here, halfway down the page, ‘Wrapping the Yarn While You Knit.’ It helps not only secure the floating yarn, but keeps things from getting too bunched up for me.

Mini tutorial of sorts to go with my scalemate knitting pattern. There are captions under each photo.

This is how to do the picot row in the earfins.

Hey, I had a question on the scalemate knitting pattern. For the fins, it says work 4 rows of stockinette, then underneath that, it says knit1, yo, k2tog, yo, k2tog. I figured that that is for the fifth row, but you only had cast on 5, and if you count carefully, you would have us work with seven stitches. I was just confused. Could you please clarify?

The knit one is your first stitch. The yarn over creates your second stitch, knitting the next two stitches together creates your third stitch, the next yarn over is your fourth stitch, and the final knit two together creates stitch five.

Does that help?

Proud owner of a new skein of neon variegated yarn.

Obviously this calls for a new hat.

Sorry for the wait. I couldn’t seem to have camera and scarf in one place after finishing a crest. So you get to see four in this go.
